A story by award winning artist Faith Ringgold, tells of 8 year old Cassie Louise Lightfoot, a Harlem girl with big dreams. During their rooftop picnics with family and neighbors, Cassie and her brother "take flight" in their imagination, flying over city landmarks like the George Washington Bridge. Even though Cassie's father helped to build a nearby building, he can't enter it because of his color. Cassie imagines that everything she flys over becomes hers, even the "forbidden" building and the George Washington Bridge, which shines like a diamond necklace.
